Zayed Giving Initiative floats mission in Tanzania



DAR ES SALAM: The UAE Zayed Giving Initiative’s volunteer medical team has inaugurated the first phase of the humanitarian missions of the UAE-Tanzanian Mobile Hospital, which provides diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive service in several areas of Tanzania.


The development coincides with the declaration of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for 2017 to be the Year of Giving, and under the framework of UAE leadership’s directives to promote humanitarian work and respond to humanitarian crises.



Ummy Mwalimu, Tanzanian Minister of Health, expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to offer humanitarian help and rescue victims and vulnerable patients all over the world.



She commended the UAE’s leadership for providing assistance to those in need on an international level and highlighted the advanced preparations and the specialists in the UAE-Tanzanian mobile hospital, which reflects the great desire of the UAE to treat patients and fulfil their needs.



She thanked the Zayed Giving Initiative and the UAE-Tanzanian volunteer medical team for their humanitarian missions and charitable initiatives in the Arab region and around the world to help vulnerable people, especially children and the elderly.



She noted that the ministry of health in Tanzania is keen to assist UAE and Tanzania medics and enable them to fulfil their humanitarian duties to treat children and elderly patients.



The operations of the UAE-Tanzanian mobile hospitals started as a response to an official invitation from the Tanzanian government to contribute in the development of medical services and raise medical capabilities in the East African country, to reduce the rate of chronic fatal diseases.



The medical campaign is an initiative from the Zayed Giving Initiative, the Saudi-German hospital and the Dar Al Ber Society, and it complies with the values of giving of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and is continued by the Emiratis who follow his humanitarian path.
